Jim, what games do you have which support modem play? I am an avid modem
gamer and a staff member in the Modem Games forum. I have quite a number of
Amiga modem games, perhaps we can play a few sometime.

Randy, Falcon, Populus I & II, The Perfect General, Operation Com-Bat,
Firepower, Professional Football Simulator, Fighter Duel, Stunt Track
Racer, and PowerDrome. Some of these support only null-modem play.
Anyone else have any Amiga modem games? I (along with several of my Amiga
using friends) buy any and every game that comes along that supports modem
play. If anyone know of other modem games available, I'm interested in
finding out what they are.

Jim, the Modem Gaming Lobby here on CIS is a prefect place to allow for
direct connect/null modem capable games. Since the connection has already
been made to CIS, no phone call needs to be made. :> Let's see, the modem
or null modem capable games I have are Falcon, Populous, Powermonger,
Flight Of The Intruder, F-16 Combat Pilot, Flight Simulator II,
Armour-Geddon, Battle Chess , Fighter Duel. There are a number of other
modem capable Amiga games, including Knights Of The Sky, Jet, and several
modem capable shareware games, which can be found in this forum and others
on CIS. There are other modem capable games, though I can't recall any
offhand. If you are interested in playing any of the games we have in
common, let me know, I'll pick up the phone call for the first time, or we
can meet in the Lobby area.

Where are you located? I'm in Escondido California, which is sort of a
satelite city to San Diego. The connect time at 2400 baud on CI$ is
what… 12.50 per hour? It may be cheaper to dial direct unless you happen
to live in Zimbabwe. BTW… The Perfect General is (IMHO) the perfect
Wargame…simple interface, in-depth and flexible strategy and modem
capable. If you have an inclination towards this type of game I wholely
recommend it. Let me know what the possibilities are of connecting and
what game you prefer.

Jim, yeah, it would be considerably cheaper for us to call direct, since I
live in Rancho San Diego. :> Down here in the southeast county, and maybe
it's a slight long distance call, but it will be cheaper than the lobby! :>
The lobby I mentioned is good for real long distance games, since the rate
in the actual play area drops to $6 an hour for anything up to 2400 baud. I
have yet to buy TPG, but expect to soon. I have the demo of it, looks like
fun! For now, want to hook up in Falcon, or one of the other games we have
in common? Let me know, and we can set something up!

Hi randy could you give me some info on modem games for the amiga . I have
flightsim II and KOTS but on reading KOTS info sheet it can only be played
with a null modem link .I would like to try a modem link so any info would

I'm not an expert modem gamer, but the best way to learn I've found is to
get together with another Amiga gamer and connect your Amigas together via
a null modem. This way you're in constant verbal communication as you work
your way through the set-up and configuration. You can pick up a null
modem for about 10 bucks at radio shack plus you'll need a gender changer
for another 6 bucks.

The absolute BEST modem game, bar none, is Fighter Duel: Corsair Vs. Zero.
There's absolutely no slow down when playing against another player, even
at low baud rates.

I have been an owner of Photon Paint 2 since 1988. Is there an upgrade
policy still in effect for it? Does MicroIllusions still have a graphics
program available?

Rodger, there isn't an 'upgrade' to PhotonPaint2, but there is a sequel to
it. NOT available from MicroIllusions. It's called 'SpectraColor', and is
available from Oxxi. Apparently the authors of the program decided to
start doing business with Oxxi, rather than MicroIllusions. SpectraColor
is Much improved over PP2. I know Oxxi has special pricing for previous
PP2 owners, so you might give them a call. TTFN
