Yes I did change the device to Df2: on the Mountlist and I do issue the command Mount df2: which seems to work but the cd df2: will not also the Amiga doesn't want to by displaying two Bad disk icon one for the df1: drive and another for the df2: drive. Thanks for your input Richard Barron

Richard, Take another look at your mountlist. The parameter I referred to is not the disk name (DF2:), but the UNIT number, as in Unit = 2. If this is not right, it get very confused. -larry

Well after reading everyones suggestions and comment one was suggested I never would dream of doing since my 5.25 drive manuel told me not to do which was connect the 5.25 to the Amiga first then daisy chain the 3.5 drive next which I did changed the mountlist to reflect the change and to my amazement it worked. Richard, I'm curious…look at the mountlist for your 5.25" drive…what is the UNIT number in the mountlist? Don

The Unit number is 1, reversing the order worked the 3.5 drive is df2: and the 5.25 drive is df1: this arrangement works so far ok. Thank You for your input. Richard Barron

Richard, Ok…that was the problem…if you wanted the 5.25" to be the last drive in the chain…it would have to have been UNIT 2. Don

Yes i tried that first naming the 5.25 drive df2: and the Unit = 2 but the system failed to recognized either drive. Richard

GAbe, Check the connections on your 3.5" drive if you can. Many were shipped without the 12V line being passed through. It means that the next drive in line will not work. If you don't have the poin connections, let me know. -larry

Gabe, Yes, a VOM will do it fine. You can either use the OHMs position with no power applied to the drive and check from the cable to the 'out' connector, or you can apply power to the drive and check the voltage on the 'out' connector. -larry

Gabe, Humm…is that an A1020 (CBM 5.25" drive)? If so, mine has an out port on it and obviously Richard's does…I thought they all did. Don

Yes, Don, it's a CBM original — with NO out port. Early models were built that way (and I'm a fool for having got it, it not sits uselessly, but I could REALLY use it!) –Gabe

Gabe, Boy…that is strange. My 5.25" came from the first shipment my dealer got in. Even the manual shows a passthru port on it, and of course, there is one on the drive. Don
