Help !! I have been working on a LISP routine for my office for a couple of
weeks now and have been "PROTECTING" it while Im gone. Well I erased the
wrong file and cant get the encrypted file figured out. Does anybody know a
way to look at protected lisp files? It would save me from re-inventing the
wheel !!
There is (or was) an UNPROT.exe file somewhere here on the Forum. Gotta
warn you though if you've been kelvinating too: it's gonna look like hell!
Forget seeing all those nifty mnemonic variable names….. <g>

Brian – there is a PROTECT routine somewhere, probably part of the SDK. There
is not, nor was there ever, an UNPROTECT routine available from this forum.
Imagine the howls from the third party developers if people knew that they
could download a routine from the Autodesk forum that would break into 3rd
party encrypted routines!

Okay, Okay, guys…. Look. I'm sorry; I apologize; I made a MISTAKE! (only
time you'll see *that* from me, better save this message)
I *thought* (I know… _Total Recall_…) that I had at one time seen an
unprotect routine on the Forum. It was at least a year ago, I was drunk,
she was young… Today I did a BRO ALL for un*.* and didn't get nuttin'.
Who started all this… Richard? Look, man, keep BACKUPS… I hate all that
protect and kelvinate stuff anyway! <REALLY hate the Kelvinate… I'll
never do *that* again> I feel for you, hey, *I* screwed up some of my Lisp
routines with the stupid thing too!
Let's all kill this thing, and go out there and BE CAREFUL!

This Kelvin fellow *may* be the famous Kelvin Throop, who has been known to
hack some mean Lisp code back at the factory…in addition to some
interesting memos. If this is the case, then he's _definitely_ in
Sausalito, for the moment.

Got it.
Brian: Couldnt find any Unprotc. file anywhere, and from looking at the
messages apparently there is no such animal. I was hoping to find a way to
peek at one maybe through LISP , but even the ATOMLIST comes up Protected.

Brian – I don't think you're going to find any decryption routines here. If
you do, let me know.

There is a third party program named ACE from Missisaugua Canada [sorry for
miss-spelled name, can't remember the exact spelling!]. It is a very good
program for LISP developers since it contains a cross reference generator
as well. I don't have the phone number handy, any one else?
