#Panacea DLD w/ Iomega
6 messages in this thread
Jake,
A couple of days ago I left a message for you about a conflict between a
Speedstar version of your DLD and an Iomega 20 RCD. Do you have any info
on the problem? Did you get my message? Are you on vacation?? Are you –
enough with the 20 questions<g>.
Waiting to here.

Dave, at one time I had a Speedstar card and a Bernoulli 20+20 external
unit (8") and a Bernoulli dual 90 unit all in the same computer and had no
problems. But it was not the "+" version, the only problem I had with the
Speedstar was a conflict with Windows in the enhanced mode. It would not
run because there was a Com 4 in the system, Diamond has since fixed that
problem.
Tommy,
The Diamond card and the Bernoulli both work fine. The problem is with the
Panacea DLD. When I boot the system, I get a message that this version of
the DLD will only work with the Diamond Speedstar card. So now I don't
have any ACAD drivers (except for the Adesk VGA driver). If I take the
Bernoulli controller out, the DLD will load and run. I would like to get
my Display List Driver back.

I was using the Artist Gt Professional Software with mine, and it worked
fine. I have since replaced the Diamond with a Video 7 Vram II.
Didn't you get my reply?
If not, here it is again:
Sounds like the Bernoulli controller is getting in the way of the VGA ROMs.
Disable your Iomega controller card's ROM (RCD.SYS replaces this anyway)
and see what happens – we have a number of Bernoulli's here in the office,
both 20MB and 44MB, and have no such problem.
However, if what I suggested still doesn't work, call Brad up at Panacea,
and he'll walk you through some tests to see why the DLD isn't recognizing
the Diamond board.
Jake
Thanks Jake,
I'll try the ROM's this afternoon.
