I just took a look at solwbl.lsp but failed to get it working under the
german version due to the fact that I have to translate certain commands
(ucs=bks, erase=loeschen, etc..) Unfortunately I have a US keyboard and
though I can find OE, UE (ALT-[) my favorite editor (vi) does not accept 8
bit characters neither does EDIT. Wasn't there some escape construct –
ALT-decimal code?
Another question: What does the period mean in: (command ".ucs" ) ?

You may want to try the LANG.zip here on the Forum… it has some limited
translation ability from english to german, etc. The (command ".ucs")
ensures that the *true* "ucs" command is used. If for some reason another
program redefines "ucs", the ".ucs" (note the period) will get you back to
AutoCAD's hard-wired "ucs" command.

Ah, Aachen… seat of Charlemagne, Karl der Groesse, Holy Roman Empire. I'm
familiar with it. When we were in Germany on vacation in 1987, we wanted to
visit Aachen and Trier, but since I had to see relatives in Kassel, we
couldn't take the detour 🙁
