Mr. Kurland, Reference to your message of the availability of AutoCad Release 11 for the Sparc and the 386i possible release has been available for serval months. I think you are referring to my understanding that AutoCad Release 11 is not available for Sunview only Open Windows. What my understanding is that AutoCad Release 11 or future release will not support Sunview. Michael Baker

Michael – As far as I know, AutoCAD R11 for the Sun comes with drivers for both SunView and OpenWindows. You are correct in that future versions may be for OpenWindows only, as that is the only environment that Sun will be supporting.

I have a Sun 386i/250 and a Sparc1 running Acad 10. As I understand it release 11 for SunOS 4.0.2 is the last for the 386i and was shipped in sunview with a patch to be shipped in the future for Open Windows. However, you might want to address a letter directly to ACAD on that one. I beleive Acad 11 for the Sparcs was released the same way. I haven't gone to Open Windows yet but I was led to believe that if you had Open Windows you could still run your software in Sunview. (atleast I've heard sales pitches of how much faster it runs in Sunview "if you think this is slow you can still run it in sunview" says the salesman.) Sorry I couldn't help you with your original question. Thanks, Mark
