#BB – VGA mon. problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do with a VGA monochrome
card that will not let the BB boot? If I select the proper memory window
for my 286 BB, the system usually will not boot. If I select the XT BB
memory window, the system boots fine and the VGA monitor works but the
janus.lib is not loaded and the BB won't find my auto-boot drive on the
Amiga HD. I've taken a look and it doesn't look like I can change the VGA
cards address. I believe that its the cards memory location thats trying
to occupy the BB's memory window. I've reset both the mono and color
options to OFF. Steve
Steve,
The VGA card might be copying its ROM into the BB memory location. If
that's it, you might be able to disable the ROM on the VGA card (check the
manual).

I'll give that a try Marion, the vga bios message comes up on boot so
that's a possibility. Thanks, Steve
I have used a Boca VGA 16 bit VGA card with the 286-BB with no problems so
thats one that I know works. Also the STB (avaible from STB or ATOP) sells
a multi-function card uncluding Super VGA and various ports etc. that also
runs fine with the 286.
