#Hard-Drive Drawers
3 messages in this thread
I just got a hard drive for my A500 yesterday and I have a question
concerning it's use. First, I'll give some info about my machine. I'm using
an A500 w/1mb ram, two floppy drives, and a new GVP Impact Series II
A500-HD+ w/105 meg. drive. Ok, now my question is about copying files onto
the HD. I've copied a game and a program I downloaded from CS called
SoundFx and they copied fine(I did this from the CLI) but, the drawer for
the game and SoundFx were placed under the drawers already on the HD. I
couldn't find a way of moving them to an empty space. The only way I could
figure out was by moving the drawer and copying it. This seems like a waste
of time and still doesn't place the drawer right where I would like it to
be. So, if someone could tell me how to change the location of a drawer on
my hard drive I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Andrew
With the drawer selected, use SNAPSHOT from one of the Workbench menus, I
forget which, to stick it in the new place.

By selecting an Icon and then calling SNAPSHOT from the WorkBench menu,
you can freeze the icon to the current position. If the Icon is a Drawer
Icon with it's window open, you can Snapshot the Icon and the size/position
of it's window at the same time.
