I just saw a Software ETC. (in the rear of some B. Dalton Book stores) has picked up the Amiga for sales. They are selling Amiga 500s and Software. I didn't get any pricing on the 500 but at least it is back in the public eye. I remember them selling software for the machine about a year ago before they dropped it.

This started several weeks ago because of a contract CBM got with them. Only problem, at least at one store I go into, while there is some enthusasim there is little knowledge and poor setup – The people don't know what to do with the equipment, don't have things like the 512k expanders or even joysticks for the games. Regarding your comment that they might not have the necessary experience for selling Amiga products, its been my experience that several properly timed bits of assistance to the right salepeople can often result in price breaks on software and/or hardware.

That can be true. While they're not selling anything I need, I am pleased to have a retailer for Amiga where this store is, and I figure that if I help them out from time to time it will in some small way eventually help me, if only because there are more Amiga's out there, and maybe because they want to return a favor.
