If you're interested in checking out the UPI's version of the Alec Jason
story, GO NEWSGRID and then select option 5 (search by keyword). Type in
AUTODESK as the keyword.
And if you want to catch the CNN piece, it'll be on again this Saturday
morning on Science & Technology Week.

I just saw the videotape of the Alec Jason animation, courtesy Bob Bennett,
at the Media '92 conference in LA. Wow! Did that elicit some gasps from the
audience. I was a guest speaker at the convention and had a chance to show
my demo tape to a pretty large audience and put plugs in for 3d Studio and
Animator Pro. I recieved some very good reaction and actual applause,
unlike the other members of the panel who were showing interactive demos on
the Mac who recieved none. The convention was dominated by Macs and Mac
software, but more than one person asked when 3dstudio would be available
in a Mac version. They were really disappointed when the answer was
probably never.
Great news about the Media '92 conference, Martin. I know exactly what you
mean by Alec's tape eliciting GASPS from the audience. When he first
showed it two weeks ago at the SF users group meeting there was a communal
WHOA at the last shot through the eye.
Everyone will be able to see Alec's complete reconstruction at their local
3DS dealer this spring.
