** ANOTHER MAJOR BUG **

I discovered _ANOTHER_ PowerWindows 2.5 bug. It is catastrophic to have a
company selling such a product, which is filled with all sorts of bugs. I think
they should update their product as soon as possible, by sending a newer, bug
free version to all registered users, or by uploading a patch.
Here's the new bug: Load up PowerWindows 2.5, open a new window, add a
standard boolean gadget in it, then open another window. Then, simply generate
the source code, in Manx, Lattice, or Assembly, doesn't matter, all of them
will CRASH the machine. It is INCREDIBLE that such a simple operation (opening
two windows with a gadget in one of them) has a bug in it. Other bugs i found
in the previous version of PowerWindows have NOT EVEN BEEN CORRECTED!
Other bugs include generating a &NULL in the font pointer in the newscreen
structure (Manx source code generation.. never really used lattice generation),
constant program crashes, if you don't save your work periodically, and the one
described earlier. I think Innovatronics should learn what is beta testing
before releasing such products, which are a pain to the user.
What kind of company is INNOVATRONICS???? I think PW is the last product I
will buy from such a irresponsible organisation.
I am awaiting the upload of an upgrade patch here, or receiving a corrected
version by mail. This is the least they could do.

ACK! I was looking for information of POWER WINDOWS. I think I got it! Heres
what I want to do. Im porting a program written in C to the Amiga. It needs to
have a nice Amiga style user interface. Pull downs for the input output etc.
I was hoping that a program like Power Windows would
help generate some assembly code to create such a user interface. It that the
idea? Or am I wrong about the concept? And even if Im right can I expect it
to do anything but cause trouble?
I've been using Power Windows since it's release. I don't use any actual code
it generates, just the structures. It's worked flawlessly.
But is it what I was looking for? See prev message.
Designing a user interface is up to you. Power Windows will make the
generation of screen, window, menu, submenu, requester, etc., structures
extremely easy.
Ahh thats what I would like! So it generates "C" source to create the menu or
wahtever that you patch together?
It'll produce C, Modula-2, and ASM structures for you. It's a very powerful
programmer's tool.

What release of PowerWindows 2.5 are you using? The latest release is 2.5B
and you can get it free-of-charge by returning your original disk to
Inovatronics, Inc., at the address listed on the package.
I tried to duplicate the problem you were talking about with PW 2.5B and was
unable to do so. I presume that this means that the problem has been fixed.
I understand your frustration, but let me assure you, PowerWindows 2.5 was
Beta tested by a variety of COMMERCIAL developers for 2 and a half months. It
is simply impossible to test every circumstance that can arise with a very
flexible tool like PowerWindows. In the event that bugs are found, we are
fairly fast in responding to them, I think, and offer free bug-fix updates as I
stated above.
The problem you have with the &NULL font pointer for NewScreen structures
seems to be an intermittent problem, and I plan to fix this in the next update.
If you any other problems, I would be happy to look at the files or help you

I have verified my PowerWindows version, and it is not the B one. I will send
my original disk for an update. But I still think that the &NULL bug should
have been corrected in 2.5 since it was present in the 2.0 version of
PowerWindows.
