I have the exact same setup as you. The sign you need to put over your VTR should read "MAKE SURE THE VIDEO INSERT MODE IS ACTIVATED!" What I mean is, you have to set the GVR into a video insert mode, or you get this result. Happened once to me, too… Hitting the initialize button on the VTR setup menu ought to set it up correctly. You can also do it from the front panel.

Jim, Thanks. I haven't had a chance to try it again. I'll give it a shot tommorow. How do you like the GVR? HH

Jim, What so hot about the new GVR? What are they going to do to it? My boss is going to NAB, but alas, I have to stay here and WORK. HH

The new GVR will: 1. Address the Sony 422 protocol problems. 2. Have a built in TBC 3. be a little tighter 4. NOT have VITC 5. List around $3400 All this according to the regional rep. Regards, Jim Pope PROSeries Denver

Jim, Did they say anything about making it rack-mountable? I couldn't believe how wide the GVR was when I took it out of the box. HH

Jim, >> I hear that Sanyo is about to release a hot new version of our deck. I'm glad to hear you like the deck. I'm probably going to take the plunge and get either a S950 or a PAR in the next month or so, but I guess I'll wait for the details on the new deck before I do anything. When is NAB? David

Jim, March 31? I was hoping to get something by the end of the month, but maybe the PAR will fit the bill. I'll let you know. Greg P, if your listening, when is the PAR supposed to be available? Or is it now? David
