Thanks for tips on adding a 2.0 ROM chip. My chip did not come with a jumper already on it. I have an old A500 (5.0board) and I was concerned what jumping the chip would do to my Switch-It device. The directions on my Switch-It did not mention jumping chips or cutting pre-jumped chips. They do not mention board versions of the A500 and the changes that maybe needed. Directions sent with the 2.04 ROM only state that the chip should be "jumpered" from pin 1 to pin 31 for A500's with old 5.0 boards. I was confused by the term "jumpered". I guess it is short for install jumper. Can I feel safe adding a jumper and not worrying about the unknown effect on the Switch-It or show I contact the Switch-It people (Global Upgrades) before it do it ???? Thanks again for the tips.

Now I'm confused again, thanks. What I'd do here is just install it without the jumper and see if it works. Worst thing that could happen if it's wrong is a flashing monochromatic screen on startup. I hope. B-{] <<Always room for one more under the chassis!>>

Sorry, I don't know anything about the 'SwitchIt' Rom switcher. I'd call them first before installing it… just to be on the safe side. -jim
