Accelerators?

Oh technical hardware gods! Hear my song! Now that everybody is
jumping with DSP based accelerators for Photoshop and other graphic
programs… anyone has get the awesome idea of using of of those DSPs
to accelerate 3ds processes. And talking about it, now that IPAS3 is
about to break the door of developers… it could be easy to hardware
manufacturers to plug-in external programs to accelerate 3ds
calculations, like particle generation or whatever effect/function
you can imagine/program to.
Nice confuse message, but I'm sure that I will recieve at least 43
replys to that one (too much gods here?) <g>
Yond mortal, ye gods throw much lightning betwixt the planets Alpha and
Pentium. From such thunder, cries of planet DSP cannot be heard!

mmh, a "Mindscaper"… same minds of the made games or just a psycho-houdini

Seems that DSPs are secondary when talking about processing power… anyway,
I'm looking to that new DSP board for Painter 🙂 Maybe I have to wait for one
compatible with Photostyler, since it's my great love. but one for Painter is
very tempting.

If you do try a DSP, I would like to hear how much it helps, as I am sure many
others would too! — James —
James,
I will try to get one as soon as possible. I think that there is one for PShop
but I haven't started Photoshop since last year (well, not too much time). For
me, it could be great to find one that work with photoshop/styler plug-ins and
filters and Painter tools.
The question is: how anybody can get a DSP to do something useful for 3DS?
Maybe just only applicable in the video-post cycle?
