True that an FFS hard-disk doesn't need cache nearly as much as floppies, or as OFS, but for many things caching still improves performance even with FFS. On my 2620 card / FFS 2090 40Meg HD I've had make times cut by 50% using BlitzDisk V2.0. Some other things are hardly effected. It will depend a lot on what you're doing and what hardware you've got, but for some people, BlitzDisk will save a lot of time even with FFS- …cheath

cheath, I just go a letter from you informing me about the TxEd+ 2.01 upgrade and saying I should not use Blitzdisk on a FFS disk. Huh? Can I or can't I use the Blitzdisk that came on my TxEd+ 2.00 disk? — Art

Art, to repeat for the 3rd time today – DON'T USE BLITZDISK WITH FFS until he releases an update. As for txed2.01 it is available here on the amiga forums if you are a registered owner and have the original disk. Ron

Thanks for spreading the word, Ron. The FFS-compatible version of BlitzDisk will be available shortly as patch file "BDFIX1.ARC", we' re in final stages of testing now to insure that it will work with as many different vendor's hard drives as we can verify. Please do NOT use the current version of BlitzDisk with FFS until the new release of BlitzDisk is available- …cheath

I'll be testing BlitzDisk 2.0 with my CLTD controller soon. Now I've got it running with the StarDrive on the A1000, and a 2090 on the A2000, with betaS ters running on various drives. …cheath
