I got the tape today, thanks. Now as soon as I unVAXenate it, (I know that was bad, don't fall out of your chair and hurt yourself) I will see what there is to see. Strange file format, but at least I can now read the tape. I wrote a small Icon program to massage the files once they are on my hard disk. I like Stallman's "GNU Manifesto" article. If you don't have one, you should get the april issue of COMPUTER LANGUAGE magazine. It is full of some very amusing little satirical pieces. Like computing at Chaos Castle, by Jerry Richnelle, where his IBM-PC AT breaks down and he calls IBM and talks to his real good buddy John Akers CEO of IBM who send s him a new 5 million dollar IBM 3090 mainframe, and Seymour Cray just happens to drop by with a new cray-2 in the back of his car, just to keep jerry's VAXen and SUN workstations company you understand. And an interview with Niklaus Wirth who reveals that pascal really was a just a joke he made in class one day that some people took seriously like one nerd at this place called apple computer, (not woz). It really is a pretty funny magazine. Well, it's been a long week.

there was a jerry poorsmell parody in the april micro cornucopia last year. i'll have to make a point to get Computer Langauge. i am angry with byte for discontinuing their ads for the famous programmer's school. i saw that EDN had a self contained nuclear power supply…
