BTW, The fonts from the demo work just fine with Prism. You can avoid the
hassles usually encountered with extra fonts, by naming a disk "FONTS", and
put it in the external drive. It seems that DOS looks at the drives before
the subdirectories!.
I hesitated from recommending the FONTS disk name, it didn't seem right to
me. The Calligrapher demo disk is named that, they were pulling the same
trick. I think the explanation is that the insertion of a disk is an
overriding 'ASSIGN' that supercedes any 'ASSIGN's before that point. Try
inserting a disk named 'C' sometime. 🙂
Jeff Braun said they discovered it by accident. I have been using it for about
a month now with no problems. Even though our requester seems to allow an
unlimited amount of fonts, most others don't and too many crash programs. I
just keep a stack of font disks and stick 'em in!. Of course I'm also one of
those that has about 314 disks all named "Data" <grin> Stan
