Does anyone have any information on the new Amiga 2500 that I read about in
a Vancouver trade magazine? Is it real? Apparently, it consists of a high
res display and a 68020.
There are 2 A2500 machines as announced the Hanover show. They are nothing
more than an A2000 and new cards/monitors.

There are 2 versions of the A2000 that will be know as the A2500. They
are both based on the A2000 with add-ons. They should be available for
sale in the US in about 6 months. Anyone with a current model of the A2000
can buy the add-ons and upgrade to either the A2500UX (UNIX ™ version)
or the A2500AT (IBM PC/AT clone version.
At the April 5 FAUG meeting Max Toy said the A2500's would not be available
in the _US_ this year. Also, the 80286 bridgeboard in the A2500AT is the
very same one Commodore showed off awhile back.
Perhaps Mr Toy and Mr Gould should get their acts together. Gould
stated that the A2500's would be available in the FAll of this year in the
US. Yes, I would not have expected the 80286 board to have changed much,
it was fairly solid a while back.
Mr. Toy referred to the earlier Fall date, but said it not be met, at least
in the US. He seemed very adamant about it.

market. I find it interesting that Toy works for Gould, yet essentaily states
that Gould doesn't know what he's talking about.
I'd trust Toy more than Gould – not that I trust what either one of them says
