#PCI SCSI2

HI:
I have a problem, the aspi driver for the NexStor card in My new Micron are
huge
the best mem config I have been able to get with QEMM 6 is 528k!. I have to
load
3 drivers just to use my CD @ 100K. Does anybout have some advice, I stilll
need to install my Targa card -16K upper mem + driver, ( when I get it ) the
driver for Lantastic, and Share. HELP!! Anybody have experince with Net Room? I
have heard it lets you load driver into XMS or EMS somethig like that, mabe I
should get QEMM 7.1 will it help? If I can't resolve the mem problem Micron
said I could find another SCSI card in 30 days and return the NexStor. Anyone
Know of a good/great PCI SCSI card with small 10-20K aspi drivers? Any help
would be great. I haven't even tryed or loaded 3ds yet and I won't untill I get
my net and mem problems solved. thanx in advance . OH also MS's new mouse
driver is 24k
(16K old one),, I hate this 640 base mem stuff(bitting lip) and am thinking
about OS2 just for better mem handling. DOS stinks!
1) Definitely get QEMM. It will give you more to work with.
2) You will not have much base memory left after a network and all your other
stuff no matter what, so don't sweat it. Try using different boot up setups
for different work sessions if you need more base memory.
3) Get a tablet <g>. Why the hell is MS's mouse driver so big?! That's crazy!
4) DOS sucks. <g>
5) I'm jealous. I wish I had a pentium <g>.

I don't know why the new DOS 6.2 driver is so big, I uses a 17 button Prohance
mouse on my 486 and it is only 16k. I think I'll load the old MS mouse @ 17k.
DOS does suck bad it is something that has out lived it's usefulness. I was
hoping someone would say something about NETROOM I heard it uses some kind of
DOS extender to load drivers into XMS. Don't be jealous I worked a long time to
get everything in my 486 to work and play nice together, now untill I get every
thing moved around, hooked up, and networked
I won't have any rest. Also do you or anybody know something about NexStor
cards? Are they good, bad, or ugly.
Hear Hear – get QEMM 7.X, but be sure you get the update to 7.3 off CS. (go
quarterdeck).
Does the Micron allow you to Stealth?
I'd be curious as to what the results of running the QEMM map after installing
looks like.

I have QEMM 6.X but never used stealth because it caused so many problems with
some
software. Is Qemm 7.X that much better?
In my humble opinion, QEMM 7.3 is a good solution, but you may have to play a
bit. I have had a number of conflicts over the past 4 years with the various
versions of QEMM, and have slowly tweaked the system to fit my needs. Stealth
mode needs to be constrained sometimes, you may need to exclude from Stealth
(XST=XXXX) addresses of your Video ROM and frame buffer ROM (if you have one)
Again, my exposure to PCI and Pentium systems is not as great as it is with the
X86 world.
