The best I've done so far is PC-Task and TurboTax for the PC! (I guess if they don't need it to make seaQuest, it doesn't get written anymore! <g, but just barely!>

How does it fare against some of the PC programs? IE: does it handle work related expns, medical deductions, earned income credit, etc? I'd much rather run native than have to PC-Task this out…

Then the Canadian source of the program — Datamax Research, Bradford, ON — took back the marketing, and I got the annual update to do my '90 and '91 taxes from them. For '92, things got more complicated and I went to an accountant. But I did my 1990 and 1991 US taxes on DataTax, from Datamax, not on TaxBreak. . . . . JimDoc, on AutoPilot

I use MacinTax with the Emplant -Jonathan // Amiga online via Autopilot \\// MAC Quadra 900 & 486 emulation via Amiga!

I have found that PHA$AR is pretty good. The current version is 4.09 I think, and it is marketed by Psygnosis. The new tax version will be available in about 3 weeks.

How do you get the tax stuff for PHA$AR? From the instructions in my copy, it is up to you to design your own forms. Do they have anything available beyond the simple 1040 that came with it, and is it updated? Bill Roberts — Autopilot from Ellettsville, Indiana

Bill, the tax program (called PHA$ARTAX) comes with the PHA$AR package. This gives all the common tax forms, but more to the point, if you have been using PHA$AR to do your accounting, the right numbers get entered automatically. Probably the best route is to order it from Psygnosis at 617 497 5457. As I said, the new tax forms are still a couple of weeks away.

I have used Data Tax from OXXI for several years now. It would be so much better if they used the Commadore suggested Amiga standards. But as far as I know, it is the only tax preperation software available for the Amiga. Bill Roberts — Autopilot from Ellettsville, Indiana
