Contact: Gary Nush Product Management, Amiga Division GVP Introduces EGS-SPECTRUM Compatible ImageFX! King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, January 27, 1994 — GVP announced that they will provide a customized version of ImageFX V1.5 designed to run specifically on the EGS-28/24 SPECTRUM. This version is available to ALL registered EGS-28/24 SPECTRUM owners directly from GVP for only $19.95! The EGS-28/24 SPECTRUM and ImageFX Package, backed by GVP's commitment to quality and leading-edge technology, offer an unbeatable solution for users searching for the ideal 24-bit graphics board for their Amiga. Brian Larkman of the UK-based Amiga Format magazine the largest Amiga magazine in the world had this to say about ImageFX, "This has to be the best image-processing system on the Amiga." The ImageFX support for the EGS-SPECTRUM board represents a major addition to the EGS family of applications, and brings the power of professional image processing to the high-resolution, 24-bit environment. This combination is unbeatable for precise, fast, and professional image processing. ImageFX 1.5 EGS can, for example, work on 800×600 pixel images in true-color, 24-bit (16.7 million colors) with an intuitive, easy-to-use interface. Never before has such an advanced image processing pair like ImageFX and EGS-SPECTRUM been able to achieve such impressive resolution and color depth on the Amiga. GVP is a privately held company that was founded in 1988. Today it is the world's largest developer of peripherals for the Commodore Amiga. – 30 –

Dear Gary, As a starting user of the EGS Spectrum 28/24 board, I just read your message. You say: "a customized version of ImageFX V1.5 designed to run specifically on the EGS-28/24 SPECTRUM" What does that mean? is it a complete ImageFX package which will only run when the EGS28/24 is installed for the price of $19.95. Or is it an update for EGS 28/24 users how already HAVE ImageFX? (So, do I need to own a ImageFX package already, or is it enough to have an EGS 28/24 board). Marc (The Netherlands)

As a SPECTRUM owner, you are eligible to receive a complete ImageFX V1.5 software package that only runs on the EGS-28/24 SPECTRUM. It is the complete package, but it doesn't run on any other display device (i.e. AGA, etc.). A direct mail letter will be sent out in the next few days with all the information and details you need… 🙂 Gary Nush

Great. Hope I receive that letter. I just bought the spectrum card (that's why I said: a starting user). I directly mailed the registration card to DTM in Germany. I'll be waiting….. <<marc>>

Gary, Why are you adding the message you are answering to the top of all your messages ? This is not really required here on CIS, and increases the capture time for every one. Using AP we read messages in thread order any way so there is no real reason to this. By the way keep up the good work here in AmigaVendor, I own GVP products and appreciate that your company has a presence here on CIS. Bob

Hmmm, I'm so used to the Internet and FIDONet, that I 'quote' previous messages when replying. I'll try to break teh habit for CompuServe! 🙂 Thanks for the thanks… Gary Nush
