Hello, I am getting ready to render a bunch of TGAs for dump to Beta.
The first 60 frames of the sequence are motionless, just need two
seconds worth of the same image. Do I need to render this image 60
times, or can I just manually make copies of it via the dos copy
command, or is there some way to just dump the single image to tape
60 times?

Jeff,
look up .ifl files in the 3d Studio manuals. If you are planning to use some
decent frame controlling software, like that which comes with the Diaquest you
can just load the frame into the frame buffer and do a 60 frame insert edit
(edit 60fp, I believe).

Depends on your hardware configuration. We take out only one frame to the
laserdisc recorder, and do a hold upon playback through the computer control.
Just remember to render the first frame and last frame without fields!

Disk-To-VTR Control Loop Sequence (x) Times & Render Animation Dialog box Set
<Frame> for Single
or
VTR Setup Frame Repeat # (1) Heads:(USE) Tails:(USE) Frames: (x) & Set <Frame>
for single in the Render Animation Dialog box
