Everything we have, except for some text files, is arced. That wouldn't matter
however. You can download to the computer you have, transfer the files to an
Amiga, and then unarc them. I don't know whether there are any acbm pictures
or not. You'd find them in either lib6 or lib11.

An utility has been written that allows the C-128 to view Amiga Bitplane 1,
ACBM files and convert them to a C-128 paint program.
I don't have access to an Amiga to get the pictures un-ARCed or converted to
ACBM. (I understand that ACBM is NOT the format of choice for most AMIGA
users.)
So I guess there's not much here for me then?

I wish I could help, Alan. But I don't know of such a program. But don't
despair yet. Perhaps some of our members can help you. Most Amiga pictures
are in IFF format. Perhaps someone will make a program for the 128 that can
show those.

Alan, I've been a developer on the Amiga since Oct '85 and have _never_ heard
of ACBM files nor 'Amiga Bitplane 1'. I presume you are just repeating
something you were told without understanding the terms. Perhaps you could ask
the person from whom you got this information to be a little bit more specific
and then we could help you out.
AmigaBasic doesn't use the IFF standard ILBM files for graphics. It has its
own format, ACBM. Another example of Microsoft up to its usual tricks.
It was my understanding that ACBM was the way a file was saved. ACBM is a
non-compressed file format. The Amiga BASIC disk is supposed to have an
ultility to convert files to this format.
Bitplane 1 is black & white?
A local Amiga user knew these terms and put up such a file, which converted and
saved quite nicely. I thought that I could find more such pictureWN6()A!5zAarticle and conversion program appeared in TWIN CITIES 128, which is the
"cutting" edge of C-128 matters. The author works on both the Amiga and the
128. He's also a SYSOP on that Q network, but I don't use that service.
