#BIG problems w/3DS

OK – I'll see what I can find, but I've already booted "clean" without any
drivers except "FILES=", "BUFFERS=" and "Path" and the mouse driver on both
machines (remember – we're talking about two different machines having similar
but not the same problems…
Right, Mike.
Remember – I've often found hardware to be the culprits in situations like
this, so taking all boards you don't absolutely need and going down to plain
VGA to start your testing can be vital in finding problems.

Well, unfortunately, the fact is that I have already rendered 1000' s
of frames using the exact same configuration I am running now. I
have dropped back to DOS 5.0 at one persons suggestion, "unStack"ed
my stacker drive at another, reconfigured the vibrant driver to plain
"VESA" compat. driver, and rendering to "NULL" – none of the above
seems to make a hoot.
Wow. Definitely bizzare. If something in the system has gone south in the
meantime and is screwing up 3DS, removing it is the only way to find it, I
guess. Other than that, I'd suspect a motherboard or BIOS problem.
I was beginning to think that was the case, too – only problem was I didn't see
the spaceship come in and zap both machines <g>… Anyway – see other posts in
this thread today. I think I've got it cornered. Now I just have to find my
pointy-toed shoes so I can squash the little booger! Much obliged!
Hey, I left the window open once and the same damn spaceship flew in and
trashed my hard drive!<g> Ya just never know with these things and that's the
way it'll probably be for a while…

PS –I've got these old pointy boots you could borrow…
I found my boots, snuffed out the network connections, reinstalled 3DS
on both machines from the original diskettes and all seems well,
except some projects files I created in the last two weeks seem to
have inherited the attributes (sorry – no pun intended) of the
ugly(s) from the server. No biggy there – I have already recreated
two of the three of them! Thanks…
