I now have the [for me] updated lha file in my c: directory. Now I know why the
difference. Thanks.
I have a different question now. Is there a utility available to undelete
files? I used that as a keyword while browsing through the library, and had no
success.

Pat,
probably the best utility, short of buying PCTools, is DKSAL2.LHA in
AmigaUser library 9. It also recovers disks that are completely trashed.

Thanks for the information on PCTools and Disksalv. If the latter
doesn't work, I'll check out the former. One of my problems, in
gneral, is that I have 1.3 running. Got to make a decision–do
upgrades (e.g., operating system, bigger hard drive, more ram,
upgraded chips), or buy another computer. Part of the reason for my
not having made these changes heretofore is that I was thinking of
buying the 4000, but didn't because of fears that C= would abandon
Amiga in the US or go belly up. What's the latest gossip on C='s
health?
Pat,
as near as I can tell, C='s health is right where it always is,
i.e. right on the verge of extinction! If I had the cash, I'd still
pick up a 4000 since even if C= croaks, it will be a good computer
for the next few years. Do remember, that in the computer industry
the average lifespan of a computer is about two cycles of the
technological period. Since that is about 1 1/2 years, a computer is
only "good" for 3 years at the outside, unless you pump add-ons into
it.
So, if you've gone more than three years, it is seriously time to
consider either adding on or replacing. It really depends on whether
you can live with the decision of having an Amiga for, perhap, a year
after they collapse, which I seriously doubt. Even if they do, do
remember that the C-64 still has support after all these years,
sufficient support that I still see new users of them, even though
the rest of us have written it off as a "real" computer.

Pat,
Take a look at DiskSalv. It handles UNDELETES. Author is Dave Haynie, the
engineer behind the Amiga designs.
When you register it, you'll receive the latest version which has even
more added features. He mentioined in the CO last week that it will soon
be shipping.
