Attention user group members:
AmigaWorld is putting the finishing touches on our user group listing for the
May '94 issue and we'd like some input from you.
What is the most innovative project that your group produced this past year? We
are looking for original ideas that you came up with to make money, increase
visibility, educate members, promote the Amiga, and so on. Please include your
name and title (if applicable) and the mailing address of your group with your

The North Alabama Society of Amiga Users (NASAU) is sponsoring several
tables at the IEEE Computer Faire to be held on Friday and Saturday, the
18th and 19th of February 1994. The exhibit will include graphics,
animation, morphing, DTP, and emulation. With several Amigas in various
configurations and planning that has been ongoing since last year, we
should hit most of the highlights.

Why certainly! Or, if you prefer, since the BBS may be setup at the
IEEE Computer Faire on Friday and Saturday, the 18th and 19th of February,
you can just call the BBS number and have Scotty beam you in! B->

Tim, here's some info from Stan Krawczyk, President of Amiga Arizona
(AmAz!), the user group I belong to here in Phoenix. AmAz!'s mailing
address is P.O. Box 82371, Phoenix, AZ 85071.
One innovative way our User Group raises money is through our annual
"Computer Yard Sale", where we sell items on consignment (charge the owner
10%). We handle all the advertising in the local paper, provide a one-stop
location and sort items out by category for interested buyers. Our average
revenue for theses sales is around $400 to $700..(not bad for one days
work!)
In order to promote the Amiga and to educate users, we conduct
classes on the use of the computer from novice (new) to expert users.
We cover subjects from CLI to Communications. As an extension of this
idea, we also conduct monthly SIG (Special interest groups) that meet
to discuss and learn specific areas of interest (such as AREXX and
"C" Language).
One more way in which we try to increase visibility is through
our Monthly Newsletter (which we post in different computer stores)
and through our locally operated BBS (The Amaz-ing Connection at
(602)-843-6574).
Hi Tim,
I'm the prez of AMIG of Lansing, Amiga Mutual Interest Group of
Lansing, MI. We have about 40 members or so, we float between 28 and 58
members, atleast in the 3 years I've been a member. AIM, Amiga
Information Monitor is our newsletter, I am quite proud of its quality!
We have a DTP sig that meets the first monday of the month, and other sigs
(programming,DTV,multimedia,beginners) that meet on a more random
schedule.
