Version 1.2 will be out in late October or early November. Or so saith those
who survived the C-A "night of long knives". Developers are getting beta
versions (with bugs) to help shake it down. Many changes in the DOS to get
rid of brain-damaged seek routines and the like, bring up WB icons in a
flash, etc. Also, some present software WILL NOT run on 1.2. For example,
Aztec C had to be revved for 1.2 (it still works on 1.1). This is due to some
globals moving around.

i thought there WEREN'T any absolute references except the EXECBASE at
location 4? how can this BE? perhaps that's why musicraft and starterm
don't work too hot under 1.2. (both starterm and musicraft fail under similar
conditions with similar results – the task locks up (no error or halting of
other tasks) when a file is being opened (presumably – both do it with
filename requesters, and when you hit return or the load gadget or whatever,
it takes away the requester and then vegitates.
In Aztec C's case, it was Jim Goodnow fixing a bug in the exec function by
using an undocumented offset, that broke under 1.2. Not surprising. Anyway,
Jim's got it under control now, or so he said at the BADGE meeting. – Bela
