I'm trying to set-up TERMINUS … and am having some difficulty. My computer configuration is as follows: – Amiga 3000 – 2.04 on Hard Disk (Haven't gotten around to getting ROM) – 2.04 Operating System I get the following error message: "Unable to open library: file requester " I know I must be missing a library. The program does run in 1.3 mode. Help!? Thanks, Rob

List the files in your libs: directory and check them against the files in the libs directory of the 2.04 Workbench disk. If you do not have the 2.04 floppies, then below is a list of the libs files on my 2.04 Workbench disk: Directory "df0:libs" on Tuesday 08-Feb-94 mathtrans.library 4280 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:11 asl.library 10404 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:10 rexxsupport.library 2524 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:12 iffparse.library 7688 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:10 mathieeesingtrans.library 10428 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:11 translator.library 10524 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:11 rexxsyslib.library 33392 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:12 commodities.library 13116 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:10 mathieeedoubbas.library 5244 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:11 version.library 384 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:11 diskfont.library 8376 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:10 mathieeedoubtrans.library 16584 —-rw-d 16-Jul-91 15:07:11 12 files – 269 blocks used Ensure you have all these libary files. Don't forget that AmigaDOS is case-sensitive when it comes to these library files…if you have renamed any of the files using capital letters then that may cause the problem. // daniel on autopilot in paradise \X/ powered by intel and motorola

look in the readme file .. it requires 2.1 V38 asl.library and/or 2.1 LIBS:reqtools dumb ain't it 'cause it says 2.X but it really requires 2.1! (gotta get a freind with the 1200 to see if he can't get um for me!) -Tom-

Tom, Dumb? No. It doesn 't require 2.1 because a 2.04 system using ReqTools 2.1 can use it. -jack-

But if you don't have any 2.1 versions at all you can't run it! (got it frome devware which didn't state that you need to beg, borrow, or steal 2.1 stuff to run it) It really doesn't bother me that this is true, I just couldn't run it right away and had to use my other term program (quite basic!). I'm getting the reqtools so hopefully all will be fine soon… (maybe devware should add a blurb, or maybe even give the reqtool away with it, if C= doesn't mind of course).. -Tom-

Jack – This is off the subject, but … There was a rumor going 'round 8^) that you were going the SWREG route with Terminus, but when I checked there the other day I couldn't find it. Is it there? If so, where? If not, will it be? Thanks … Harry

Rob, Sorry for not making that requester clearer in what it says, will do so for the next release though. Anyways, the library it's looking for is a file requester library that supports a screenmode requester. The asl.library that comes with the 2.04 release of AmigaDOS doesn't support that, only 2.1 and up does. However, the 2.1 and 2.2 releases of ReqTools.library has a screenmode requester that Terminus can use. It should be available here for download, but I'm not sure which library here it would be in. Maybe one of the sysops here can step in and provide that info for you. I do have the archive available on my BBS if you can't find it here or nearby you. -jack-
