Now that's a neat idea Charlie! But suppose you do that, and process those IDCMP msgs in this 'sneaky' way (without removing them from the port), once the Requester is closed, all of a sudden you'll be getting all these msgs which in reality you've already processed. So how do you keep track on which msgs were processed already?

You can Remove() individual messages from the port if you want to get rid of 'em. The same deal can work if you have multiple devices open using a single MsgPort, though the debugging gets a bit hairier if any problems show up. …cheath

Can you remove messages from the port even if they are not at the head of the list? – Steve –

Yes – the list manipulating functions will splice together the rest of the list since it's doubly linked. Oh- remember to ReplyMsg() the items you remove from the list!

Ok, thanks for the info cheath. By the way, what are you doing on THIS system? What's the matter? BIX can't maintain your interest any longer? 😉 – Steve –

I get around a bit. No one system has all the perspectives! I'm likely to be quiet here for a couple weeks though, my wallet w/credit card dissapeared so if I wrack up a big CIS bill my account will be yanked! Speaking of which… adios till my new VISA arrives!
