#Downloading Objects

I understand there is a large collection of Lightwave 3D 0bjects in the
library. I'd love to try some of them out. One thing I still don't understand
is how to transfer them from an MS DOS disk to my Amiga 4000?
Somebody out there answered this question recently but I had a computer
virus called Stoned 4 infect my hard drive and I had to wipe everything (on my
IBM). I still don't know how it got on. It couldn't have been Compuserve
could it?

I've never used it. Is that in the Toaster 4000 manual?

You should have got it with your Workbench disks. All commercial versions of
Workbench 2.1 and upwards should have Cross Dos bundled. Check your WB/Amiga
Dos manuals for more information. All you`ll need to do is drag a PC0 icon from
System:Storage/DOSDrivers to System:Devs/DOSDrivers. Reboot your system and you
should be able to read/write MS-DOS disks.

Which library in which forum are the objects?
BTW, the Stone virus also got into my computer. Got it off a disk my computer
dealer used when he was trying to find a problem with my computer. However, a
simple virus program located it and removed it with no lasting effects to the
rest of my system.
It was a mess for a while thought, because it infected a large number of floppy
disks and kept getting back on the computer. Finally, we had to run the virus
removal program on each and every floppy disk we had. That took the good part
of a day, but we finally got all of the disk cleaned up.
Out of hundreds of disks checked, I think only one or two actually lost any
information.

The objects are in the Amiga Arts Forum. Do a FIND "Amiga" and you will get
several listings including the Amiga File Finder. You'll find this useful as
all you have to do is type in a number of keywords such as "LIGHTWAVE" and "3D"
and "OBJECTS", it will do a serach and tell you exactly what forums to look in,
and a breif description of the file.
I don't know how the virus got in. It was called STONED 4. The anti-virus
program I used didn't work very well so I had to wipe my whole hard drive and
start from scratch.
