#tranfers at high speed
5 messages in this thread
I am experiencing trouble with crc-16 errors in uploading. I have a us robotics
sportster externally conected to an Amiga 2000 with a GVP '030 combo board,a
Quantam hd is connected to the combo board. When I connect at 14400 Transfers
that should take seconds are taking minutes I use Zmodem to transfer. Gvp says
to lower my Tranfer Buffer,I've done [ that down to 4 Kb and to raise the task
priority or to buy am I/O extender. I don't seem to have any trouble when I
transfer files to Compuserve but I do when I connect to my local BBS….Any one
offer any help?…Thank You…Anthony
Go find a program called gvppatch, it was released in order to help that
buffering problem.. I have used it since the installation of my Gforce 030
and it has worked flawlessly. I think it is online here.

Anthony,
Try a utility called GVPPatch v1.7. Must be here on CIS. Under what OS
does your A2000 run? Try the BaudBandit.device instead of the C= supplied
Serial.device.
I use a A2000 with ECS chipset, OS 2.04, GVP Series HC8+ (with the 8Mb)
and a GVP GForce030 40/40/4. All works perfectly.

I have a similar system as you.os 2.04,gforce030 25 mhz,This problem seems to
occur only when using the zmodem. I am using the gvppatch but I don't know if
it's working or not since there seems to be no indication if it's running.
Where would I get a BaudBAndit.device? Thanks for your help…Anthony
Anthony,
The BaudBandit.device is probably available here on CI$. I use the
official C= serial.device and GVPPatch v1.7
put the following in your Startup-Sequence
run >NIL: GVPPatch -s
Should do the trick. BTW, what rom version does your GForce have? Mine is
v4.13
