Can someone recommend a combination (16 bit) SuperVGA 1MB card with SCSI
option? I don't have any pc slots free on my B2000.
Right now I am using with 386SX25 BB,(1) ATI FX/XL 1MB SVGA with combination
Sound, game & mouse port, (2) I/O card and (3rd) 8 bit slot free. I tried using
Trantor 8 bit T-130 SCSI card but I shortcircuited and blew up. I don't want to
use another one.
So I need another 8 bit SCSI card or 16 bit SVGA COMBO SCSI card.
Please help!
I saved one BB slot by getting a Sound Blaster SCSI-II combo. I will be intere
interested in what advice you get re VGA card as I am experimenting with a
Mach-512 card now. I have had so many warnings from people who do not seem to
know what they are talking about that I very gun shy. Also am having fun
switching from CGA to VGA 🙁 More manual reading in the A.M..

If you have a fairly recent motherboard the traces are in place to make the
8bit slots into 16 bit slots. Then you avoid the problem completely.

Convert your two 8 bit XT-slots to 16 bit AT-slots. It's really a simple
soldering, the Amiga mainboard is prepared for such work.

WIll I have to take the motherboard out to solder the 16 bit part to convert
from 8 bit?

It will be much easier but it is not necessary. I have made it several
years ago, no problem at all.

yes, you'll have to, otherwise you can't ensure that the connections
are soldered. The connector might work, but I seriously doubt it!
