#does softpc work?

I have the AmaxIV with the Amiga 3000 (and incidentally also the Picasso
board which may or may not be involved in the answers to my questions)
Before investing more money I am wondering about some things:
1) Has anyone tried SoftPC or SoftPC Professional with the Amax? I saw
the demo on a regular mac and it looked really nice and ran much much
faster than crosspc, but will it work with my setup?
2) If it works, can anyone tell me why I might want the Professional vs
the regular softpc. Is it faster? What kinds of things might it run that
the regular softpc would not? Does anyone know of examples of dos
programs which do not work?
3) Now away from the softpc question. I am having problems getting sound
within programs to work. Any ideas? Should it? Any way to save a volume
setup? (It keeps going off to no volume when I shut down.) Any sound
manager programs which work with Amax?

I have been using SoftPC Version3.0 with Amax2.56 and it works just
fine. However it's speed is only ok on a 40MHz68030 anything slower might be
unbearable.
