#Stuck at the green gem

Hello…. Well, I seem to be stuck on level 9…. I am at the gate where the
chest is with the green gem… I went downstairs, got the green gem and read
the scroll… I went back up to level 9 and closed the pit and tried to put the
gem on the space through the gate where the pit was, but everytime I did that I
threw it too far and it fell into the pit beyond the first one.. I tried moving
back and throwing it from farther back, but couldn't get it through the gate…
Does the gem have to go back onto the first square through the gate??? If not,
any hints on where to put it would be great.

If I'm on the right track then I think I'm really in trouble. I finally got
the gem through the gate, but it fell short and didn't reach the area of the
second pit. It is just beyond the gate right now. The proble is, nothing
happened when I did that… Any hints as to what to do now or do I have to
start the game all over again?!!? You see, I saved it after I got the gem
through the gate and now I can't get it back.

When looking through the gate, look up – you should see a hole in the ceiling
that should give you a clue on how to "put back the gem" …
MMM…. I haven't noticed anything in the cieling on level 9, or do you mean
the hole from the pit that is on level 10??? Anyway, I think I'm in trouble now
because the gem is just beyond the gate, but not on the pit, so I can't get it
back again…. I'll keep trying though.
