I posted this question before, and someone answered me, but I can't find the question or the answer anywhere, so here goes again – with thanks to whomever it was who answered me before. What is the utility that was uploaded a little while ago that allows programs/windows to be zipped to the Tools menu? Paul

Don't know if this is the one, but I use Toolsdaemon. Excellent, and compared to similar utilities, easy to set up yet powerful.

Would you happen to know its file name or some keywords? I searched Amigauser extensively with keywords like ZIP TOOLS MENU and so on. Paul

I'd guess it's not here then; let me look. I can upload if necessary.

Paul – I'm probably not understanding what you're looking for but … IMHO it's hard to beat Stefan Becker's ToolManager for adding to the Tools Menu … and for much more e.g. dock windows, hotkey activation, etc. > Computing Support AMIGAUSER > > [76703,2006] Lib:15 > TM21.LHA/Bin Bytes: 680848, Count: 193, 18-May-93 > > Title : ToolManager v2.1, the BEST WB launcher (and more) > Keywords: TOOLMANAGER TM WB MENU LAUNCHER BECKER > > ToolManager v2.1 is a full featured program for either Workbench or CLI > tool management. Includes the ability to add menu items to the 2.x > "Tools" menu, add Workbench icons or dock windows. The configuration is > based on a object oriented concept and handled by a preferences program. > ToolManager supports ARexx, localization, networking and sound. Bob- Thanks for the advice, but you're right. (Also, I've got TM2.1 and love it.) What I'm looking for is a utility that will give me the hide/minimize functionality of OS/2 – with tasks/windows/programs being zipped to the Tools menu when they're not needed but kept active, instead of just being toggled between two sizes as the current zip gadget does. Sort of like the extra gadget MagicWB adds, I think, but for all apps. Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to answer! First time I asked it was weeks before someone figured out what I meant. Have to be clearer next time. 🙁 Cheers Paul

Paul, Lately, I've been using ToolsX. but what do you mean by zipping programs/windows to the Tools menu? Christopher

Um, well, say, instead of clicking on the zip gadget —— | | | |– | | | —— that's next to the front-back gadget and having the window toggle between two sizes, I'd like to have it disappear, and be called from the tools menu, a la OS/2's minimize feature. I know someone uploaded a util that does this, I just can't find it for the life of me! Paul

Ah, I like that zipping the window to the tools menu. Guess I'll have to look around the libraries a bit myself, maybe someone will read this thread that knows of that util and will upload it.

Christopher, I recall seeing it go by in the last month or so, but can't find it in the my catalogs. Must be oddly keyworded or gone. "You do trust me, don't you? Of course you do." — "To Play the King" (BBC)
