If I save a file in Toasterpaint, I have a choice between RGB and Framestore.
Is RGB the same as an Amiga IFF file?
Will the Toaster/Amiga automatically put an IFF extension on the file name, or
must I do it?
What is the default directory for storing the image?
I'm trying to save some freeze frames so I can convert them into PC files, but
I can't find the files on disk after I save them. I've using the command line
prompt from CLI in Workbench. I've looked in every directory I could. No sign
of any IFF files.
Also, would any one care to recommend a disk manager program to facilitate
copying files?

Yes, RGB is the same as a 24 bitplane IFF file. You would think they
would have called it 'Save IFF'.
No, the Toaster/Amiga won't automatically put an IFF extension on the
filename. You have to do it.
The default directory is the name displayed just to the left of the
filename box. It defaults (at least in my Toaster) to
:Toaster/3D/Images.
There are quite a few disk manager programs, including quite a few public
domain. You may want to scan the libraries here. Probably the most
popular commercial package is Directory Opus. It does just about
everything.

Take a look at Amiutil in the libraries. It is a very useful program even
though it seems that its no longer supported by the author. I prefer it over
others I have used, I even like it better than DirOPUS.
One way to find out where a file has been written is to use the command line.
List #? since today
That will list all directories that have had a change, or files that are in
your current path.
Then you can be more specific in your directory request.
