#Zeus 040
4 messages in this thread
Hi, I'd like some feedback about the Zeus 040 with SCSI-II interface.
Will I run into problems if I'm using a GVP Series II card with 6
megs on it and a A2386 BB at the same time? I'd like to know since
I'm thinking about buying such a card.
Also, does anybody know if I can use a regular SCSI device on a SCSI-II
interface?
Does anybody know about the Patch for the 2.98 Roms on the card? What is this
for? I'm about to download the patch to see if that will help me figure it
out.
Thanks for any info, Jean
Fred???
Regular SCSI devices work fine on SCSI-II controllers however
I have heard of some limitations with some manufactures. Quantum
and Segate seem OK, I have used them before w/o any problems.
Warning, Warning GVP cards are a funny lot… I seem to remember
the SERIES II card had a thing about other RAM cards in the system
and especially those RAM cards to the right (toward the CPU).
I am not certain though, others reading this thread might know.
As for the BB I haven't any info. See the Sept 93 issue of Amiga
World that revues the Zeus. They say <g> that there aren't any
"known" incompatabilities.
Oh well, hope this helps……:)

I haven't been able to get a 2nd SCSI card (GVP Series II, A2091, or
Hardframe) to work in the machine with the Zeus.

Works fine.
Also, a fast SCSI-2 drive on the Zeus REALLY FLIES!
On the other hand, tape devices do not seem to be well supported by the
device driver on the Zeus.
