#kickstart 2.04 for 3000
10 messages in this thread
I'm looking for a 2.04 kickstart rom chip for an amiga 3000. unfortunately
nobody seems to have them in stock since commodore has not bothered to send
them any. if you have one available, send me your price via email. i will also
pay for shipping.

Bob,
Do you have a specific reason for wanting one? Your 3000 will run faster
with the OS in ram, you can upgrade the OS much more easily (ie., my 3000
is running 3.1). Unless you have a specific need for the rom, you'd be
much better off without it.

thanks for the info. i did not know that it would run faster when in ram. i
have had some problems trying to get kick1.3 programs to work, and i thought
having a physical 2.04 rom chip might help (plus clear up any gremlins in my
system).
so i guess i'll just stick with my current setup (can't find the rom anyway
:D), and wait for 3.1 to arrive for the masses.

So how do I get WB 3.1 for my A3000? Chris
Become a developer and purchase it from CATS
Hello Steve,
How does a company get to be a developer??? I heard CBM wasn't
taking applications or is this a yarn?
My company could do with some inside information but everytime I
approach CBM they refer me to their Tech Manuals and SMG just wants
your credit card number before they say hello.:)
Call 215-431-9100 and ask for CATS … they'll send you the paperwork.
If you aren't a registered developer they won't give you any info
that is not contained within the publically available manuals.
You can write to CATS, Developer Program, 1200 Wilson Drive, West
Chester, PA 19380 and ask for an application. The phone number is
(215) 431-9100.
I will try to get in touch with CATS 🙂
How about kickstart 2.04 for anything?
Normally I dump the kernel into SRAM on my mega-midget racer anyway, so if
there was some way for me to get a hold of it on disk and load it that way…
Any ideas?
Thanks
