Slow music problem

I hope someone will be able to help me with at problem I've got with my Amiga 2000. It works OK with most things, however with a Sonix player program, it plays the notes at about 1 note every 30 seconds. If I open another window, it will play a few notes faster, then slow down again. It plays other sounds fine (3 Stooges works) and I wrote a Basic program which plays notes on al 4 sould channels, and that works fine. The technician where I brought in the machine (Friendly Computers in Southington, CT) is stumped He called Commodore and Aegis. Both said they never heard of the problem. One other symptom is an occasional guru message with some other programs that puts out a memory address in the area of 154 meg. (I don't\ have nearly that much memory). I found out that those music programs will work on other machines, so I'm pretty sure it's the machine not the program. Thanks, Paul Dowgewicz [75756,654]

That's bizarre; I've not heard of the like either. Do any other music/score programs (like Sonix proper, DMCS, etc.) work properly? Does ANY non-audio/music program show a similar symptom? Rick
