Ooooohhhhh happy happy joy joy – my latest "neat stuff" just arrived:
A DPS PAR, TBC IV, and Micropolis 2210A… (For my A2000 HD+GVP
68040 w/Toaster 3.1 SW) Now, all I gotta do is RTFM and EVERYTHING
will be WONDERFUL, right??? :->

quite THAT simple…..;->
Anybody care to regale me and the rest of us with the Thrill of
Victory and/or the Agony of Defeat??? Any installation gotchas???
Congrats on the gear, I'm sure you'll love it. I think the PAR is a
quantum leap product for serious LW animators. The thing has paid
for itself many times over, and my BCD-5000 single frame controller
is just getting dusty!
As for the installation, I installed the PAR in the last Amiga slot so
the TBC IV sit right next to it in the first IBM only slot. That CVE
cable is real short! Also, make sure the TBC is in "slave" mode and
the output of the PAR is connected to the genlock reference input of
the TBC IV. Use the nifty "Y" cable to send the PAR output
elsewhere, if you need to. (and you probably will). This timing
information is on page 40 of the TBC manual. Finally, make sure to
read the communication instructions on page 30 of the PAR maual.
Don't forget to the jumpers on the PAR to 9600 baud, and the same for
the TBC. (Page 14-PAR manual, Page 11 TBC manual). You won't have to
worry about serial connections. That's all handled by the CVE
connection. (see the sidebar on page 16 of the TBC manual) Enjoy!
