Amiga News needed!

Folks, in case you don't know, in addition to being Entertainment Editor for
the all-PC COMPUTE magazine by day and a busy freelancer for AmigaWorld by
night, I also do a monthly column for the UK Magazine AMIGA COMPUTING called
U.S. News. This column features news and previews of North American Amiga
products.
It's starting to get a bit harder to fill a page with news about American and
Canadian Amiga products, so I thought I'd just drop a note to remind all the
developers here that you should let me know about your products! I work on
about a 7-week lead time, so if you have an upgrade or new program coming out
sometime between the last month and the next two months, be sure to get in
touch with me via E-Mail. Might just be able to get your product some overseas
exposure!
Have you heard about Grammas `Order Desk'? It appeared in one of
their newsletters and they have always put out good stuff. I've
never seen news or reviews about it though, must qualify for one of
the great unknowns awards somewhere….

Lu,
I bought FRED and NAG from Gramma. FRED is a Speed Dialer, and NAG is
an appointment reminder scheduler. There is also a couple other
programs they've written, one of them is a building plans design
program. I had a demo of it somewhere.
I was thinking in particular of Order Desk from Gramma which seemed like
one of the least known and potentially very prrograms around 🙂
I have FRED and NAG too, great programs and I hear that FLO (the floor
plan layout program) is good.
regards, Lu on AutoPilot downunder
Thanks for the heads-up. Back when I ran COMPUTE's Amiga Resource, I
never was able to get eval copies of Gramma stuff to review.
Unfortunately, their wonderful products (I'm a big fan on NAG, one of
the first PIMs anywhere) have gotten almost no press because they
don't seem to get eval copies to the publications. It's a shame.
I'll contact Richard Stockton, though, and check out Order Desk.
Thanks!
Yes, but sending products to magazines doesn't guarantee any coverage
whatsoever, and then there's companies like Hash Enterprises who had
a long-time "no press copies" policy, but managed to survive and
prosper…
Perhaps. But it generally only can help if you have a good product,
assuming a responsible publication.
I know my book finally started selling in Europe after Amiga Format gave
it a 92% in November…
Say, weren't you supposed to be doing a sequel?
