Hmm, I can't seem to get it to work. I'll have to keep fiddling with it a while, if it works I'll get it running eventually. Peter_S

Peter, I just had a thought. QLens can be used on ay screen, and I wonder if it's going to another screen from the one you are calling it from? Try flipping screens if you have more than one to see if it's there. -larry

Larry, No, Peter is right. I downloaded it the other day, and it does the same thing for me. Starts up and shuts back down,ll within a second or two. And I tri looking for it behind all screens (which was easy, 'cause WB was the only one I had open at the time) and it wasn't there. Mike

Hmm… very odd indeed! Mine worksd flawlessly. Perhaps Mike Berro would be able to make a suggestion (he's the author). -larry

Larry, I already tried flipping through the screens looking for QLens. I also looked for the process, which was not there. It appears to be having some sort of probk on startup and it just exits. Peter_S

Peter, How much memory does your machine have? Qlens needs to allocate a few (several?) bitplanes worth of memory to the sizing/manipulation of the image and may be exiting when it determines that there's just not enough mem available. Just a guess, – Keith

Keith, Unless Qlens needs an ungodly amount of chip memory, that isn't the answer either. My system has three megs, and there's usually around 400K of chip ram available after booting. I tried running Qlens under this configuration, and got the same results as Peter. I assume that this is a new version of Qlens? I remember running an older copy of Qlens, some months ago, which worked quite well. Can anyone give me the version number? Mike

Mike, Mine is QLens v2.01 (use 'strings' or TYPE OPT H to see version). -larry

Keith, When I start QLens there is about 300K of chip and 450K fast ram free, so I don't think that's the problem. Peter_S
