Blitz Disk – Where?

I don't think there is any problem at 79.95, Charlie. I think the problem is that you messed up the perception of the quality of your products by pricing them too low. _That_ is what caused the problem. The person who was complaining percieved the value of BlitzDisk to be <some unspecified> portion of the TxEd+ package. With TxEd being the "headliner", the natural tendancy is to see the BlitzDisk as <50% of the value, at a minimum, when in fact it's worth more – it's a unique product, in that it provides something no one else (including us, as a released product) has available for HDs. Furthermore, as a product that is an enhancement for HD operation, it should be higher priced because your market is more vertical – you'll sell less, and the point here is you MUST break even or you'll end up working at Micky D's. Low prices are fine, to a point – but you have to draw the line somewhere. Of course, I would not presume to tell you what to do – but I do want to tell you what I think. I hate to see good work disparaged for patently false reasons. I think you do excellent work, and that you deserve to profit handsomely from it – those who are using your products experience a measurable increase in productivity, whether it be the editor, BlitzDisk, FastFonts, or even ARP, which by all reports has turned into a reliable, quality package. I see TxEd at <100$, and BlitzDisk >100, <150. considering that it saves a _lot_ of time when it's used, it has a _lot_ of value. That's the whole point of software on a computer – up the productivity level. What's the catchword, always? "Speed". What do BlitzDisk and FastFonts give you? Speed! Is it measurable? Unquestionably. How much is someones time worth? Then, how much can this save? It can reduce a 10 minute compile to 1 minute or less, the second time around… so if an hour is worth $50.00 (a conservative estimate) How long before BlitzDisk pays for itself? Answer: 12 compiles. I do that in one day. After that, I'm _earning_ time (money) by using it. –Ben–

Gee, maybe I should hire you as our marketing manager C-: I agree completely on SSSpeed, however I suspect it would be difficult to sell at a high price tag, high being >$40 … unless the speed is achieved with hardware, for which people would gladly spend $hundreds for the same speedup. It's a wierd world; maybe I should sell BlitzDisk with a dongle for $299.99 ??? …cheath
