Hi All, I'm running 3D Studio and Animator Pro on a 486 DX33 with 8 Meg of RAM. I find that if the FLC file gets too big it won't run smoothly. 1. Is this a RAM problem? 2. If so, how much RAM is needed to run a flic that's 5 or 6 MB's? Also, I can't seem to play flics from 3D Studio anymore. I have to exit and go to Ani Pro to view a flic after it's rendered. Any ideas on how to fix that? I've tried changing the path in the config pulldown — no luck. All thoughts are appreciated, Rebbie

Rebbie, you need more memory. When the size of your flic + the memory AniPro takes exceeds your ram, the flics must play from the disk instead of from ram. I think AniPro uses 4 to 8 megs depending on screen resolution, but I'm nowhere near sure about that. One thing to try is playing the flic from Aniplay or Aaplayhi which should require less memory. I went from 16 megs to 40 megs soon after I started using 3DS partially for the same reason: to play big flics. About the flics from 3DS: what are you doing different from when it did work? J K J

Hi JKJ Thanks. I figured the RAM was the problem but didn't want to invest if it wasn't. I'll try aniplay, too. I'm not sure what's different since I used to be able to run flics from 3ds. Maybe I should reinstall 3DS. (?) Thanks again, Rebbie
