Or Trapdoor1.83 and April1.0, or substitute the FREE Jammail for TD.

April 1.0 is too buggy !!! Yesterday I tried Jammail. I didn't like
it. Trapdoor is the best.

I have to honestly disagree, I'm sorry. I have used April1.0 since it
was released and it is not buggy. Try increasing the size of the
stack, that seems to be the only problem people are having with it.
Once I set the stack to 10,000 all the problems vanished. It is also
economical at $10.

Yes, I agree with that comparison and I use Trapdoor myself. But it costs
$40 to $50 while Jammail and the other Shelter stuff is essentially free.
That is very appealing to many points.
But choice of mailers and readers is always very subjective.

I know a few people who are using April1.0+ (registered version). One
problem which occured was for example : sending 1 message which then
appears 3 or more times in the message area.
I was recommended Point Manager and Trapdoor when I entered the world of
offline mail reading. This combination never let me down. So I stick with
it. OK, there is a high shareware fee compared with April & Jammail. Tried
also Spot 1.2d, from what I've seen of it, that's also a great program.
This program is also worth it's fee.

just to keep the record straight, April 1.0 does not duplicate
messages in the echoes, I have no such problem. That is symptomatic
of fidonet mail handling problems like loops in the network. But,
like I said, choice of mailreaders and texteditors is a very personal
matter, some like one and some like another. I am glad to see someone
else who appreciates the advantage of offline mailreaders in general,
I think it is a great idea.
