#Pinouts for 1902 RGB
3 messages in this thread
I am trying to make a cable for the 1902 Commodore monitor to use it w/Amiga
500. I've heard from many that this is not possible. I need the RGB pinouts for
the 1902.
Dave,
I did it and it will work, almost. When I bought my first Amiga a
few years ago, I kludged a cable using the Amiga and 1902 pinouts.
The problem is that the monitor will interpret any colors outside of
its (limited) range as white. You will be missing large pieces of
menus, etc. I was running Digiview/Digipaint and menus and file
requesters were mainly blank to the point of being impossible to use.
At first, I thought it might be the software… then I took the disks
to a dealer and everything was visible on his monitor. I tried
re-doing the cable, but nothing helped. I wound up buying a 1084s
before I could see everything.
You might try using the C= RGB to composite adapter (about $40) but
the composite output is not as clear as the RGB will be.
Sorry, I don't have the pinouts handy any more.
Try getting one from Redmond Cable in Ca.
