Sysop, I am doing architectural rendering with detail in the background image. My background images start as 2.3 meg tiff files from a HP ScanJet IIC. In order to you the perspective preview function I have to rescale the background image usually to a TGA file. The rescale image however becomes .9 meg tga file. The resultant composite images loses a lot of detail. How can I still keep the orginal detail in the background of the 2.3 meg tiff file. Thanks, Wayne

Hi Wayne, << ..background images start as 2.3 meg tiff files .. In order to you the perspective preview function I have to rescale the background image usually to a TGA file. >> Are you using 3DS to scale to the TGA file or some other process? << The rescale image however becomes .9 meg tga file. >> This should be expected. If the resolution of your image gets smaller, there are fewer pixels and therefor fewer RGB values to store. jonas[adesk]

John Thanks for your help. I got it all together. I now evaluating the firmware upgrade in my DesignJet 650C. This will be the leg in my upgrade path to get the best possible photo realistic image out of my hardware and software. Look forward to the 3D Studio 4.0 C1 upgrade. Thanks for your help. Wayne,
