what ever happened to the good old days when sales people could smell money and
would beat a path to your door ? 🙂 i'm interested in buying Razor pro and a
TCBIV card but nobody wants to sell them to me. i posted a message yesterday
looking for dealers and got no responses (except for jamie @ Razor who just
wanted to no where i lived) i called greg pyros where i bought the par
yesterday and still haven't heard from him.
if anyone knows where i can purchase the TCBIV & Razor pro, please let me know.

By the Way Martin I wish I had 1/2 as much business as everyone thinks I did

Actually many times I find out that these folks are just up the street from
another dealer on this forum and pass on their Phone Number…..
I also find it interesting that since Greg Sold his retail portion of the
business I never see a posting from Tony or anyone from Advanced Media, Have
these folks discontinued their forum activity?

I think Advanced Media is more interested in pursuing their proprietary
multimedia authoring products then really pushing 3DS.

I can't blaim them, getting involved with hardware is a real iffy situation. I
prefer Software related sales and support.
Of course I don't mind the DPS PAR Stuff But the Matrox Max Has been
questionable latley.
Don't you carry both?
Or do you just do the DPS PAR / Razor and Truevision Stuff?
Something gave me the impression you sold Matrox Too.
Anyway, let me know what lines you handle and I'll make sure we steer clients
your way especially if there in-State <BG>.

Thanks. No, not selling Matrox. Our biggest product lines are
Tektronix printers & supplies, Silicon Graphics, Truevision, DPS, Autodesk and
related. Folks can get Razor Pro, also.

Thanks for the info. Good to see you folks popping back up on the forum
(I guess you've been lurking). It makes sense for AMI to focus on their
acquired & developed propreitary software and target market, and I'd expect to
see most of your efforts in that direction. If 3DS & Autodesk remain viable
offerings for you, I can certainly see where they would fit into your strategy.
It would seem the users in the forum are requesting a more active presence from
your org.

Yes, the new PAR IPAS routines are in their final stages (finally!!).
The "Action IPAS PAR Library" officially consists of:
PAROUT.IXP – Automatically takes all your networked computer's Targas out to
the PAR, no setup required, automatic, no batch files, no
hassle! Also waits to get the last few frames so every
animation is 100% completed and on PAR!
PARCTL.PXP – A PAR controller IPAS that runs _within_ 3D Studio! Duplicates
most of the functions of PAR.EXE that you would want to run to
check animations, verify tests, etc. Handy!
PARIFL.PXP – An automatic IFL generator from PAR files – lets you see the
animations to choose the right one, and automatically creates an
IFL of the proper length from it. Can also be used to quickly
and easily create IFLs of non-PAR files, also, from within 3DS
with a great user interface!
The entire set will retail for $295, with a $100 upgrade for anyone who
purchased NDUMP. NDUMP will still be sold for other hardware, and can be
customized for almost anything, but for ease of use with the PAR, these
specialized PAR routines are unbeatable!

What I meant to say was that it duplicates most of the Playback functions of
PAR.EXE, not the editing functions. It won't do a join or rotoscoping.

We didn't want to re-invent the wheel! Most users we talked to would prefer a
full-featured app for editing, not trying to do that within 3D Studio.
Happiness is being able to choose and play animations from 3DS, and to step
through them a frame at a time forward and backward.

card or anything. I am extremely interested in the new PAR IPAS routines. I
have my original disk and the receipt. Is that sufficient in order to be able
to upgrade?
Any idea when the new PAR IPAS routines while be available?

Gus for the NDUMP routine. It came in real handy last fall when I needed to
dump approx. 40,000 frames to the PAR in about a month.

You should call Roger Ennis as Rencom in Florida. I bought my PAR, TBC IV, and
Razor Pro through him. I promise you will have a hard time finding better
prices or service. He will even beat other dealers' prices (at least he did
for me). Give him a call at 813-854-5776. Tell him I sent ya!
