#PC Anywhere-3DS

We are attempting to set up remote access to a clients PC to enable us to start
up 3D Studio with a batch rendering script– Previous messages in this forum
indicate its possible and we'd really like feedback from anyone who has done
this and any advice you can offer on remote software and configuration.-
We are leaning towards PC-Anywhere but are open to suggestions–

We are a company involved in architectural software (ACAD and applications) and
have had very
successful long range-services with Commute from PCTools (even calling Norton
Commander or similar remote). Unfortunatly, they stripped Commute from PCTools
since Release 8, I think.
If you got some old packages, I would try this first.

Do you know why they stripped commute from PCTools?
Now it's only half worth it's money, we used to sell it with our computer
systems as standard package and now we don't do it any more. Really a pity !

Well, if you noticed, they stripped everything out of PCTools. Even Central
Point has been stripped out of PCTools! <g> Now it's all in the hands of
Symantec (and the Peter Norton group). They've got their own pcAnywhere.
Looks like your royalties are gone to hell…
know about Symantec, tried PC-Anywhere and found it hard to
comprehend/configure

PMJI, go with pcAnywhere, I've been using it for a month or two and it seems to
work fine.

I agree that Symantec's manuals have been less than clear, recently. The two
I'm specifically thinking of are the pcAnywhere and Norton Administrator for
Networks manuals.

HAH! Now I've got a hold on you, something crosses my mind (once a year….<g>)
totally different topic, I posted a message some days ago, that I'm searching
for a 3ds browser.
I stumbled recently upon your object-viewer-ipas…Really like it (commute is
for job, but viewer is cute !) Hope it's free, got it through a rather dubious
BBS without *any* readme. Anyway, would it be a big deal to put it to DOS,
standard VGA with an isometric view for any 3ds or prj file ???? (NO rotating,
buttons or other ?). I think you would do us all a big favour ?!
