Kevin, Sorry to bother you again. We are having some problems/confusion regarding the price of the CDK2. We saw the CDK2 at the Meckler VR show in NYC in december and were quoted a price of $995.00 by Autodesk. We immediately ordered a copy of CDK2 from our dealer and were quoted the same price of $995.00. When we still had not received our copy as of last week, we began to hound our dealer about it. Today she called and said that the reason we hadn't received the CDK was because the price was $1,995.00. She said that when she called autodesk today that she was told this was the price and that Autodesk would not be offering support for the product. It was unclear whether the support you are offering via compuserve would be continued or if it was a short term support which would discontinued in lieu of a paid support program. Is this all true or should I be looking for another dealer?? Jerry O'Connor Summit Graphics, Inc. P.S. Our dealer is: Procomm Systems in Pittsburgh, PA – 412-621-1950.

I am willing to field questions from just about any angle short of trying to debug your code for you. For serious application developers, paid support is also available. Yes, we will even help you debug your code, but we can't do that for free. CDK Dealers should also be in a position to offer some level of support to users– although I don't imagine that they're all up to speed yet. <<Is this all true or should I be looking for another dealer??>> I don't think I know the folks at Procomm personally. I have forwarded your message to Dealer Sales for follow-up. I'll ask them to clear things up for you. -KY

Kevin, Once again thank you for your quick response! To my knowledge, the order was placed in December (however, i'm not sure wether or not the dealer placed their order quickly enough) I will call them tommorrow and see what the deal is. Just incase it matters, the order would be under the name of one of my clients, "Amsco International". << To ensure that CDK users get the attention they need, I have made myself available on Compuserve on a daily basis, 7 days a week. (perhaps a little more than i would expect) as long as you will be continuing at this level of involvement, i will be quite happy. Jerry O'Connor Summit Graphics, Inc.

I suspect you will be hearing from them shortly. <<this is the only level of support i would expect to get for free! No substitute for being in touch with real users! Regards, -KY
